Little Wayne was born Vernal Anthony Scantubury in Sav la Mar, Westmoreland, Jamaica. He now resides in Montreal, Canada with his family as a proud father of three sons and one daughter. He has been in the music business for 23 years.
He started his journey by holding the mic for the first time on one of Sav la Mar’s champion sound system King Terror Hi Fi. The response was great so he continued. At the time Romeo Django was well known as a top singer and lived on the same street as Little Wayne. After that, Little Wayne and Django became inseparable and appeared as guest artist on some of the sounds in Westmoreland like Ghetto Phonic, Stereo Phonic, Faith Force, and African Symbol from Montego Bay.
Then Little Wayne moved to Kingston with his uncle Adrian Shippy. He did his first Wild Geese recording in 1988. Concord Money was released in Jamaica; Come Back to Me with Django was realeased in London, England. During that time, he featured on sounds like Arrows International with Chicken Chest. He also worked with Django on sounds like Doctor Love from St Thomas, Music Master from Shooters Hill, Ruler Tone from Nannyville, Kingston, Qualitex from Dun Kirk, and Young Gal Promotion from Mount Industry St Andrews.
He then moved to Canada and did Gal You Fe Come with Prince Everald. After starting a family, his latest song Stamina came out on Wild Geese. He thanks his producers Adrian Shippy, Romeo Django, Alric Depass and Examine.
